Dr. Kelle J. Barfield is a U.S. consultant on nuclear energy stakeholder engagement. She holds a Doctorate of Education in organizational change from the University of Southern California, a Master of Science degree in communications management from Syracuse University in New York, and a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. A retired employee of Entergy Corporation, Barfield began her industry work at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Mississippi and has practiced nuclear communication for 39 years. Barfield serves as a contracted subject matter expert in nuclear stakeholder engagement for the Civilian Research and Development Foundation, Sandia National Laboratory, and the International Science & Technology Center. She also continues to serve as a stakeholder engagement advisor to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, a position she began in 2008, assisting in the development of nuclear stakeholder engagement guidance documents and conducting stakeholder engagement workshops and webinars for member states that are considering nuclear energy implementation or expansion.
